Youth & Teen Fitness


Youth and teens are an important piece of our focus on Youth Development at the YMCA of Greater Tulsa. We have several programs designed specifically with this group in mind, and are always looking for excellent leaders-in-training for our Camp programs.

We have excellent fitness classes for younger children; visit our group exercise class schedule and look in the Children or Kids section for those classes.

Children as young as 8 years old are welcome to attend an orientation to use some equipment on the fitness floor. Schedule orientations at the front desk. Following are our requirements for children to use the equipment:

Age Rooms/Equipment Allowed Requirements  
8-11* Treadmill & Recumbent Bike Orientation & Adult Supervision adult must be on machine next to child
12-15 Cardio & Machine Weights Orientation  
16+ All Rooms & Equipment None (orientation available)

*After orientation, every time a child ages 8-11 comes in, they will be required to pick up a lanyard at the Front Desk/Fitness Floor staff upon check-in and wear it on the Fitness Floor. 

Teens are also welcome in other group exercise classes of their choice, like Yoga and Zumba. We are also a great place for teens to work on swimming, train for triathlons, and the like. Check our Group Exercise schedule to find the perfect class for you!
